Cinderella w/ John Corabi – House of Blues Myrtle Beach 7-27-11

Review/photos by Rob Capps, owner of www.metalrocksradio.com

Cinderella returned to Myrtle Beach on a Wednesday night, to the delight of a great crowd, as the band is in the midst of their 25th anniversary tour.

John Corabi, formerly of Motley Crue, Union, & The Scream, opened up the show with a great acoustic set.  With just a guitar and a stool, John played almost an hour set featuring new music, as well as hits from his former bands, including a great acoustic version of Motley Crue’s "Hooligans Holiday."  He seemed to be loving the opportunity to be on tour with Cinderella, and hung out at the bar after his set, signing autographs and taking pictures with fans.

Cinderella hit the stage next, and seemed more energized than ever.  This would be the third time in the past year that I’ve seen Cinderella live, and I think it was the best show yet.  The show opened with “Once Around the Ride” and their classic “Shake Me,” and continued with all the hits, and a few tunes that I don’t think I’ve heard before from them live.  Tom Keifer was sounding better than ever, and the entire band seemed more energized in general.  Keyboard player, Gary Corbett, also seemed to get much more attention than usual.  He was out on the main part of the stage, instead of being hidden on the side, and even got a little keyboard solo time at the end of “Second Wind”.  Cinderella is one of the best bands from the 80’s still out on tour, and after 25 years, are sounding as great as ever.  If you get a chance to see them, don’t miss out on this great rock n roll show.

Once Around the Ride
Shake Me
Heartbreak Station
Somebody Save Me
Night Songs
The More Things Change
Coming Home
Second Wind
