Lockport, NY-Well you hoped it would happen someday and at Friday’s Molson Canal Concert Series it finally did. It had been 12 years that the Queensryche last graced a stage in the Buffalo area as the Headliner. And a little rain stopped no one from leaving early either. The band kicked their show off in high gear opening off "Neue Regal" from their underrated 1986 offering 'Rage For Order.' The jam packed crowd really came alive during "The Killing Words" and "Walk In The Shadows." The band then segued into its latest album 'American Soldier.' "Home Again" proved to be the highlight as singer Geoff Tate’s daughter Emily came out to sing with her Dad.

Then Queensryche delved its biggest selling album 'Empire.' Empire’s "Best I Can" started off on a high that did not let up until the final notes of the Encore "Take Hold Of The Flame." And yes in between that time the band played its three best-known songs "Silent Lucidity", "Jet City Woman" & "Empire." Overall by Queensryche standards, it was a short show clocking in at 90 minutes, but worth it for any true fan as well as anyone who expressed any remote interest in seeing them in concert.
